Coincide Your Bristol Event With The Olympic Torch

Bristol events venues are expected to be packed next year when the Olympics come to Britain.

Holding an event in the West of England will be particularly popular as the capital will be overcrowded with tourists and games spectators.

But the spacious city of Bristol will be far from neglected and the Olympic torch is destined to pass through this charming and characterful city.

On its way to the 2012 games in London, the Olympic Torch will pass through the Bristol neighbourhoods of Henleaze, Hotwells, and Old Market with the full route details having just been released by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG).

In true Bristolian fashion this momentous event will be celebrated by the side of the harbour which makes the city so attractive.

The deputy leader of Bristol City Council, Simon Cook, said: “Everyone is very excited about the Olympic Torch being carried through the streets of Bristol.”

“I’m sure residents in Bristol will want to welcome the torch relay, cheer the torchbearers and celebrate the coming of the 2012 Olympics.”

It is thought that the Olympic Torch Relay will arrive in Bristol on Tuesday, May 22 - stay there overnight and then continue towards London the following day. For a variety of reasons the actual specifics of the route remain top secret.

However with its central location, Brunel’s Old Station (otherwise known as the Passenger Shed) is one of the most convenient Bristol events venues. Guests can get here from almost anywhere in the country thanks to the adjoining Bristol Temple Meads train station. Whatever kind of event you want to make a success, Brunel’s has experience of hosting it with a wide range of business conferences, exhibitions and dinner parties catered to.

Sebastian Coe, the chairman of the LOCOG, said: “We are thrilled to confirm Bristol will act as host locations for the Olympic Torch. We extend an invitation to Bristol residents to welcome the Relay during its journey around the UK.”

So why not take a chance to be part of history and make your booking at Brunel’s Old Station to coincide with the passing of the Olympic Torch through town? That is a great way to guarantee that your Bristol event will be a huge success.
