Great South West Care Awards Finalists

Dom Joly is set to host a champagne reception, gourmet meal and awards ceremony at Brunelís Old Station next week.

The occasion is the Great South West Care Awards which are recognising all areas of the social care sector throughout the South West. That includes those who work in nursing homes and residential homes, private care providers and other unsung local heroes who look after vulnerable or elderly members of society.

Lisa Carr, a Director of the Great British Care Awards and one of the judges on the day said: ďThe Great South West Care Awards are now in their third year and we were truly heartened to receive such an overwhelming response. Despite the economic downturn social care will always remain at the heart of the government's agenda for supporting old and vulnerable people. The awards offer a unique opportunity to celebrate the successes of individuals, teams and businesses throughout the UK - people who really do make a positive impact on peopleís lives.Ē

The awards take place at Brunelís Old Station in Bristol on November 16 where the winners will be announced, and go onto two National finals to be held in London in 2013.

There are a total of nineteen categories available for nomination.

The awards support the Care Professionals Benevolent Fund. They are supported by many members of the social care sector, including the Adult Directors of Social Services, the Department of Health, Ceretas, the English Community Care Association, the National Academy for Social Care, the Social Care Institute for Excellence and Skills for Care.

Finalists for the Great South West Care Awards are listed here on the Care Awards website.
