Care Awards South West

Join us in one monthís time for the prestigious Care Awards South West, which Brunelís Old Station has the honour of hosting.

The Great British Care Awards celebrate excellence across the care sector with a series of 9 regional events throughout England, which lead on to two national finals in London in 2013.

They reward those who have been outstanding in the care home and home care sectors, including residential care, care for the elderly and specialist services. The Care Awards also aim to recognise people who have made an impact behind the scenes, for instance in helping with training and development. In this respect the awards are all-inclusive, bringing together the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors, as well as unpaid carers.

The Care Awards have received support from across the social care sector, including the Department of Health, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS), Ceretas, the English Community Care Association (ECCA), the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), the National Skills Academy and Skills for Care.

The closing date for nominations is now past and judging will take place on October 15, 2012. The awards themselves take place on November 16, 2012, at The Passengerís Shed.

A very special guest will be present in Trigger Happy TV star comedian Dom Joly, while the compere will be Steve Walls.
