Bristol Food Conference at Brunels Old Station

A groundbreaking UK food conference will be held for the first time ever in Brunel’s Old Station, our renowned Bristol event venue.

The 2012 Bristol Food Conference will be the launching platform for the Good Food Charter, which in turn is part of Bristol’s Big Green Week.

The Good Food Charter states: “We believe good food is vital to the quality of people’s lives in Bristol. As well as being tasty, healthy and affordable, the food we eat should be good for nature, good for workers, good for local businesses and good for animal welfare.”

The conference aims to showcase a new citywide policy on food, encouraging Bristol people to interact and make their voices heard during the discussions about the city’s food policy.

This Bristol event takes place on June 11 from 9.30am to 3pm at Clock Tower Yard, Temple Meads. What makes Brunel’s Old Station such a popular event venue is that it is so conveniently located, and easily accessible by all forms of public transport including bus, train and coach.

The event is free event but to be sure to get in you should book in advance.

The Bristol Food Policy Council is supporting the Bristol Good Food Awards 2012 and a number of local cafes, restaurants and delis have made the shortlist, following nominations by the public. The winners will be announced on Tuesday July 3 at a gala event being held at Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery.
